Impact Investors Council (IIC) had their marquee event Prabhav’s fifth edition organised at The Grand, New Delhi on 12-13 September 2024.  Arpita Pal Agrawal, our MD & CEO, participated in a thought-provoking discussion with fellow panellists and an engaged audience about innovative financial products, gender investing and other financial instruments for the underserved population in India. The issue of the reach and real impact of such products was also deliberated on.

The event promised to be a catalyst for executing innovative ideas and transformative partnerships in the world of impact investing.

The Bharat Fintech Summit, held on 3-4 February 2024 in Mumbai, was a two-day industry conclave dedicated to fostering meaningful discussions and deliberations on the ever-evolving landscape of the BFSI sector, with a specific focus on digital transformation. Arpita Pal Agrawal, our MD & CEO, participated in a fireside chat discussion on the topic ‘Evolution of Due Diligence in Fintech Investments: Ensuring Robust Assurance’ with Shashank Shekhar, Head of Consulting, The Digital Fifth.

She shared her perspectives on the importance of due diligence in fintech investments, in light of the commitment to transforming lives through financial inclusion, essential risk factors that investors should prioritize during the fintech due diligence process, especially in the context of emerging markets and the changing approach to due diligence required to assess digital capability, readiness and compliance in tech first business models.

Arpita Pal Agrawal, our MD & CEO, participated in an industry-level panel discussion organised by the Sa-Dhan – Self Regulatory Organisation for Indian MFIs, at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. The highly acclaimed and experienced panel discussed and put forward the broad expectations for MFIs from impact investors. The dialogue centred around the opportunities and challenges that the microfinance institutions have going forward, the trajectory, and the safeguards the institutions should take to enable grassroots-level impact and serve the underserved.

Arpita Pal Agrawal, our MD & CEO, made a presentation highlighting the importance of the work of the My Choices Foundation at the 5th Asian Anti-Trafficking Forum, 1-3 August 2023 organised in Hyderabad.

She also briefly discussed the immense potential of creating further impact and resilience amongst the survivors from the projects that Opportunity International, Australia, currently funds namely Operation Red Alert – the anti-trafficking program and  Operation Peacemaker which is addressing domestic violence through community prevention, and through support to survivors.

The event was attended by several senior government, law enforcement officials, NGO partners besides 100+ Implementing partners of Safe Village Program across 10 states in India.
